Overnight Train to Sichuan, Couchsurfing in Chengdu
Universities in China have a 2-month long break to celebrate Spring Festival. While my students have all returned home, I have embarked on a 7-week excursion to the south of China. This is my first time traveling alone, so I am a little nervous as I navigate new territory. I have a rough idea of how I will travel China: take the train everywhere and try to stay with as many Couchsurfers as possible. But, most importantly, my goal is to just stay relaxed and take in as many new experiences as possible. The tentative plan is Xi’an to Chengdu–>Kunming–> Tiger Leaping Gorge–>Guangxi–>Guangdong–> Hainan–> Xiang Gang (Hong Kong).
